As an initiative of the Ramaiah Group, the University ensures that its policies and actions are created keeping societal impact and giving in mind. The programs of all faculties, therefore, also include a strong social service component. 

FHMCT, in association with Vijay Karnataka, regularly organises cooking demonstrations across the state. 

Conducted by faculty members and students, these events are an attempt to create greater awareness about healthy eating. Over the years, these demonstrations have covered a range of cuisines, including basic staple dishes to fusion cooking. They also promote innovative cooking techniques. 

Cooking Demonstrations have been held in various parts of Bengaluru as well as in Dharwad, Mysore, Udupi, Raichur, Bellary, Belgaum, and Tumkur.

Service to Society is a compulsory program designed by the University to ensure that the education students receive at RUAS is not only industry-centric but society-focussed as well. 

At FHMCT, this program has included field visits to orphanages and shelters for the homeless. During such visits, students contribute their time and resources to underserved sections of society. They often put on entertainment for the residents, interact with them, and also donate relevant supplies (whether it is school stationery, food, or clothes). 

The University has organised and implemented numerous activities that focus on the welfare and upliftment of society. These include mandatory ​‘Service to Society’ programs for all students, as well as initiatives like awareness drives and blood donation camps.
